75 ford mustang ghia, 302 miles. Left headlights on for 10 hrs at work, tried jumping, no luck. Got new battery and jump....no luck, then guy with big truck came along connected cables wrong and something smoked...replaced battery, solenoid, fusible link nothing. working on dropping starter to get it tested, appears to be original so might as well replace it since i have to lift engine to get it out. what else could it be? smoke came from area around battery /solenoid which is why i went there first, ignition coil is on other side of engine compartment.

Should have taken a jump. Cheap cables don't cut it......Fine stranded copper or forget it. Mine cost $200 bucks - what did those cost?
