I am having trouble with the underhood wiring on my 1983 Toyota Camry. Monday when I was driving it the starter drive became engaged and caused the motor on the gear reduction starter to burn up and it melted the insulation on the cable from the starter to battery in several spots. The starter was rebuilt by a reputable shop and a new drive put in it. Car will now turn over but not start are there any fusible links or tips to troubleshoot problem, the man at the starter and battery shop said he has gone as far as he knows how. Please help I do not believe it is too serious as I was driving it up until the starter problem Thanks in advance Blummer

All I can say from this end is check all of the under hood fuses I believe on these older Toyota’s some of the fuses are right at the positive battery terminal. Dan. Canadian "EH"
