turn signal flashers not working!!! Sign In

okay the flashers do NOT work when i put in LED bulbs on my 1997 dodge ram 1500. flashers work fine with regular bulbs but i need to know how to get the LED bulbs to work properly. any help is appreciated thanks!

Haven't bought any led replacements yet but no doubt the problem is they use so little wattage that they can't trip the flasher. They may make a flasher for the low draw. Haven't ripped one apart in a while but a flasher was a bi-metal connection with points that when heated up from the flow of electricity bent such that it opened and closed - they probably still do just that on most.

Been a while but when you used to tap existing wiring for a trailer the flashers would go too fast and there was a HD flasher to slow down with the additional load. There must be something available for reduced load,

Agree with Tom,

From what i understand,you can use an "Electronic flasher."
Try Advance auto parts,i know they sell them.

you guys are awesome thank you so much for the help i've been trying to figure this out for the past year so i went to checker and bought an electrical flasher and they work great!! thanks again!
