03 chevy impala p1404 code

chevy impala 3.4 170k, replaced the egr valve now light is back on, the car runs great but i hate having a light on. i have a diagnostic code checker to clear the code but curious how to fix it. any help would be awsome. the code is p1404

That means that you haven't resolved the problem yet. It could be many things including computer reprogramming. You will likely need a qualified tech to track down the problem.

ya that is what i was thinking, someone told me there is a emissions thing under the back drivers side wheel but didnt say what the part was. thanks

We don't need that. We already know what the code means. You just need to get it diagnosed to find the cause. Your code reader isn't going to do that for you.
