I have a 1995 grand marquis V8 that smells of gas when run for a block or two.
I have a engine light on so I looked at the on board computer and it came up with
P0401 insufficient EGR flow
P1131 lack of upstream heated oxygen sensor switch – sensor indicates lean – bank no: 1
I have run the whole gas line from the back to the front but cannot find a leak or where the smell comes from. It seams to be really bad when the AC is on.

There will be a leak but you may have to search for it with the engine running. The fuel will evaporate very quickly as soon as the pressure is relieved. Since the air conditioner is picking it up, I would concentrate in the engine vicinity but don't overlook anything.

I would first like to thank you for your reply.
I have tried to find a leak with the engine running but as you say it’s evaporating so fast.
Would it be safe to spray a soap solution around the fuel injector and the engine? Or can you suggest another way, as I have no experience with this. Thanks

Soap isn't going to do a thing for a fuel leak. They make leak detectors for finding hydrocarbons but they are expensive. One trick used commonly is spreading some baby powder in the area to leave a stain when a leak hits it.
