2001 Honda Civic EX 1.7L 157,000 miles I was driving recently and the transmission was pulling, then the check engine light came on. When I got to my destination ~3 miles down the road, & tried to back into a parking spot, the car would barely move. It goes into gear but only moves sometimes. The OBDII pulled code P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction. What does that mean?

This is NOT my specialty but it's been a day and Noby has come by yet for you. I'll give it a shot and some questions that may help this along. When this happened did the car feel like it was in TOO HIGH of a gear? Now if so does either forward or reverse feel too high and gear and engine struggling as if you started off in 2nd or something? What's commonly happening in torque converters when conditions allow is that it will lock such that engine will be dang close or exact 1 to 1 with the transmission. Codes: Take them as a direction more than absolutely what is needed for now. You may need some transmission hands on to check this out more but for now just see if wires to transmission are all nicely hooked up with nothing rubbing exposing anything or shorting out. Not all code readers are created equal and may (I say 'may) need a better one to hone in more extensively for this if nothing obvious is found. Unless someone here and it's possible knows this is common and I don't then let a real trans shop take a look if you feel ok to drive it. It not running well for any odd reason it could be fooling the whole show. Good luck for now, T

When I hit the gas, it would rev out & wouldn't accelerate, or shift gears.

If it could do that with full, clean fluid that's not a good sign for that trans. If fluid dark expect an overhaul to be in the cards, T

Hello everyone, I need someone who can properly advise me to recover the problem what I am facing now. It makes me so much upset. The transmission went out quick, I noticed one day that my 2001 Honda Civic ex was starting to take a little time to catch and get in gear; I decided right then and there that I’m going to the mechanic. I went home parked the civic in the driveway; the next day I started the car and was on my way to the mechanic. I got no more than a mile and half down the rode and needed a tow truck. I already brought my car two times to the mechanic but still I am facing the same problem. Link deleted [url=http://www.centralfloridatoyota.com/ ]used cars winter park fl
