2004 Toyota Avalon oxygen sensor

CEL has P0136 oxygen sensor code for a while now. Car runs wonderfully. No odors. Gas, mileage or handling issues and light has been on for a while. It sometimes will go off for a while but then comes back. Going to get it looked at. What should I expect they could tell me is wrong as the car has not experienced any problem because of this situation. Thank you.

OK, the code means that circuit isn't behaving not necessarily the sensor itself. It sees the fault in second or downstream sensor in bank 1, sensor 2. First make sure of no corrosion or exhaust leaks, wiring intact to it or disconnected. Then if nothing found you can move on to electrically test it or at the age and some miles might need just a new sensor but it's not certain yet so take a look, T
