06 Honda Accord with 2.4 DOHC engine with 79,000 miles showed code P0443 - purge valve solenoid or partially clogged purge hose. Removed and checked canister and all solenoids. OK. Checked hose. No blockage or crimp or collapse. Any suggestions or hints with this model Honda will be very helpful and appreciated. Is it possible that a small leak in another system hose could cause this MIL code to come up? We have not smoked this system - YET.

That code isn't for a leak. It for an inoperative Purge valve for whatever reason. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That code is a circuit code for the purge valve. Basically it means there is an electrical problem. Have you tested the purge valve and its circuits while commanding it with your scan tool? Does the code return? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

We (there are two of us working on this problem) removed the canister and checked the unit (for moisture trapped inside) and to check the solenoids and valves on the canister. We've since learned that the purge valve is under the hood, but we don't know where it's located Can you or someone tell me where that valve is located? That is our next step.

It should be easy enough to locate. It has a vapor line coming from the tank and a vacuum line going to the engine with an electrical connector. It usually has a green cap, service port close by in the line.
