2006 Dodge Charger RT Daytona 5.7L engine problem

Took our 2006 Dodge Charger rt Daytona (85,000 miles) to shop cause the performance was sluggish. Was told engine was misfiring in 1st cylinder and needed to be replaced. Also told that engine mounts were broken and needed to be replaced. Had work done . Car was running great for 2 weeks , til one day drove home from train station(about 5miles) turned car off to go inside to change clothes. Went to leave and car wouldn’t start up. Engine made loud banging noise when turned the key to start car. Noticed engine also shook allot while trying to start. As soon as I let go of key engine turned off. Had towed back to shop. Shop says now there’s 0% compression in 5th cylinder. a hole in the #5 piston and damage on the 5th spark plug which probably caused hole in piston. And Oil in all chambers . Also said car smokes which we never saw that when we were trying to start it before having it towed. Says it needs new engine. Had car towed back to house as quoted 5,000-7,000 to repair and I simply can not afford it.
Did the trouble code thing using the key in ignition method and several codes came back. Some of which the shop did not mention at all.

Any help would be much appreciated. I looked up the codes and it looks like there’s a bunch of new trouble codes displaying that have to do with the ignition. These are codes that the shop did not ever mention when it was at the shop for the engine problems. And car hasn’t been driven since it was at the shop as the engine won’t start. How is it possible to be having all these new codes coming up? Any ideas? Would like to have the car fixed then we plan to sell it as it’s been too much of a head ache with constant repairs.does anyone know are the trouble codes possibly all related? Is there possibly any cheap fix to St the car running so we can sell it?

None of those codes matter at all if there is a confirmed hole in the piston.

The thing is I don’t really trust the shop that we took the car too. After doing some more research on the shop, it turns out this shop is known for pushing repairs that don’t need to be done on unexpecting people who don’t know any better. And it was my mother that initially took the car to the shop and she doesn’t know anything about cars really.
And the car had just been in their shop less than 2 weeks prior and was diagnosed with the 1st cylinder misfire. And that was it. Wouldn’t an issue like a hole in a piston wouldn’t that have come up? The car was driving beautifully after coming out of the shop and literally had only been driven maybe a total of 20 miles and, if even that, since coming home from the shop the first time, before issue with it not starting out of no where.

As HT said not much for other symptoms matter if this engine really does have a hole in a piston this engine has serious problems quite possibly more costly than you were quoted. If you don't trust the diagnosis get another opinion or now pictures of the hole speaks volumes. IMO it needs a new or serious redo of that engine.
This again IMO isn't really the right choice of vehicle for a daily driver quite a high strung retro "Muscle Car" just begs for abuse now with the age and some miles just that much more likely for a major problem like this.
Perhaps just get it proven to you better and decide if this type vehicle is what you really want or are willing to put up with?

Yes, Tom is right. Just confirm the piston damage.
All those codes could have been set inadvertently during the diagnosis by turning the key on while things were unplugged.
Just take it for a second opinion somewhere else.
