FrownI hit something real hard on the freeway and it triggered my airbag sensor, although the airbags did not deploy. The problem I have now is that my seat belts are stuck because of the sensor and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg just so that I can find out if it's the computer or just a sensor that needs fixing. I've contacted the dealership who is trying to rob me of my hard earn money. I just need to know if any one has had this problem and how they resolved it.
The dealer suggested that I replace all of my seat belts (since all of them are stuck) and also, replace the computer in which the sensor my or may not need repairing. In order for them to tell me they want me to fork out $110 just so they can enlightened me of this information.
Here is my question, do I really need to replace the seat belts, or can I salvage the ones that I already have, and I also want to know how I can check the sensor myself and save me some money. I know there is a way i can do this myself.

There are plenty of repairs and systems DIYers can work on and repair themselves and that is what this forum is for.

SRS systems are not one of them. Most shops don't have the required tools or knowledge to diagnose or repair these systems. It's not as simple as swapping out parts....

I'm not going to throw stones at you but making the statement "trying to rob me of my hard earned money" over a $110 diag fee (that actually sounds low for this type of problem) tells me you have no idea how complex this system is or the cost of the equipment and amount of training it takes to work on them.

Take this vehicle to a shop capable of working on these systems (doesn't have to be the dealer) and get it repaired correctly.....
