Hi, I have a 94 Chevy Blazer 5.7L, I put a crate motor in it last year, drove it about 125 miles and the check engine light came on, not after which a loud noise was coming from down under, it was a very cracked Fly Wheel, fixed that problem, then proceded to change the knock sensor, pulled the fuse for the ecm and the check engine light still comes on with code 43, followed the wire and did a continuity test and its fine, the ohms on the knock sensor reads 4.2 which should be fine. I took it to a mech and he couldn't find anything wrong, he checked for all the grounds, the wire and the knock sensor as I had and it tested fine. Took my chance and took it to a smog shop, everything passed with flying colors and I was actually surprised to see the emission values so good, except the check engine light blew the whole smog test. If anyone can give me some ideas or things to check that haven't yet been so I would greatly appreciate it....I have yet to be able to drive it for a whole year and I'm not too happy....

Does this have an ECM or PCM? Which transmission?

When you installed the knock sensor did you torque it down to factory specifications? Torque is 14 ft/lbs. Do not use anything on the threads of the sensor. If you over or under torque the sensor, it could make it too sensitive or not sensitive enough.

Start there and see what happens.

WOW....lots of sleepless nights and many hours trying to figure that one out and you NAILED it, I did tighten it down too much, put a new one in and tightened it per specs, check engine light gone, and no codes come up. Amazing Thank you very much
