97 Buick Regal P1655 Evap Solenoid

1997 Buick Regal 3800 Series II engine with 102 K miles showing P1655 code - EVAP solenoid control ckt. What is the evap solenoid and where is it located on this car?

That code is for the EVAP purge control solenoid circuit. Purge control valve is located near the top of the rear valve cover mounted on a bracket. It has a red connector plugged into it. Measure the resistance of the valve to see if it has an open circuit. You can also use an external 12 volt source to power the solenoid. If it clicks when power is put to it and you can blow through the valve, the valve is good. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
