i have a 2007 dodge nitro. the esp /bas light comes on sometimes and stays on. then the next time you start it,it will go off. i know what esp/bas stands for but what would be making the light come on. thanks Frank

There is a failure in those systems or they are failing their self test. You need to have the controllers scanned for trouble codes. You'll have to take it to a shop that has a high end or factory scan tool to get the codes. A pocket code reader can't access that module. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
