Engine trouble code... Sign In

Hello, they call me Jazz. Perhaps some one in this forum can point me in the right direction. I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt with about 85000 miles. Recently I ran into some issues with the car not starting, ( no crank ) After a few tries the car starts up and runs. As I was driving to work today the car shut off on me about four times, after that the check engine light went on. I had a friend with an OBD scanner check it for me and it came up with one code ( P601 ) Something to do the the ECM. I called a another friend to see if he had an idea of what it is. His source said the the ECM is probably going south and it either needs to be programed something to the effect Flash. does any one knows anything about this and how I can resolve the issue? I really would appreciate it, JAZZ

PS Prior to the vehicle stalling a warning lit up on the dash that said ( Lost of power, engine disabled )

Yes, that sounds like a PCM going south. Flashing won't help that as it is likely a hardware failure.
