P0300 1998 k1500 5.7l kicking my a@@

Ok guys, I need help.i have been working on a 1998 k1500 5.7l. Reman engine approx 1 year ago. Ongoing problem with p0300. Code was not initially there upon engine install. I have replaced dist, plugs, wires, ignition module, coil, may sensor,spider inj, and just replaced spider injector again. I cannot figure this one out. Code comes on almost instantly at idle, but when cleared and driven, will not come on, until parked at idle again. Engine does not appear to have an actual miss. If so it is very slight at idle. Any suggestions?

Do you have any other codes stored, like maybe a P1345?

No other codes. I forgot I also just replaced plugs, and crank sensor. The crank sensor did go out recently, and I rolaced sensor, and wiring conn.

What brand plugs did you use?

Did you do a crank sensor relearn? You need a high end scan tool to do that. Puter could be setting false misfire code(s).

I believe it was auto lite platinums. I did not know about the crank sensor relearn. My scanner will not do that. Do you think that's what it is?

? Seems to matter on this engine to use OE Delco only for plugs. Think the part # is AC 41993.
Go easy on handling plug boots and have the right tool - easy to damage wire boots this and many,

If you don't feel any misfiring going on, but the puter is firing off misfire codes, do you think spark plugs are going to solve anything?
You really should swing it into a shop that has the capability to do a crankshaft variation relearn and see if that solves your issue.

That depends on what you consider reasonable. The Snap-on version starts about $4,000.

There are professional laptop driven, software setups out there but you are still going to spend a couple grand to get to this level.

You can probably swing into any repair shop and have them do it for you. It would be a lot cheaper.

Update...ok I have been having trouble with this rebuilt long lock since initial install last March. No noises or anything, just crazy trouble codes. I had an appointment to get the crank sensor relearned, and 2 days before a rod suddenly knocked a whole in the oil pan. It seams I have been chasing ghosts this whole time. I putting a gm crate motor in next weekend. Should have went that route last year.

Wow. Well, definitely has a misfire now. I'm not knocking all the aftermarket re manufactures but I've run into several engines that had issues. They tend to use the cheapest gaskets and whatever else to get it out of the facility. Hopefully GM factory remans are better about not cheaping out. We've done a couple of GM SERTAs and had really good luck, so far.
