hi everyone this is this is my 04 dodge caravan 3.3 when I hold and move the tire side ways there was a play after I replace the inner and outer tie rod and move the tire side ways, the play is still there. could this be the rack and pinion thank you.

You need to check front end parts just so knowing where to push, pull, pry etc., to know what parts are worn or what might be what I'll call normal lash all the way back to locking steering wheel. Helps to have someone else help while you watch parts move.


If wheel is turned off of dead center there is some normal "play" in the pinion to rack when not pointing dead ahead on most by design as part of steering geometry. Varies vehicle to vehicle but still worn out parts are not acceptable so need to know. Are you even sure it needed both inner and outer tie rods ends and how many of four did you do? Why all if so if really worn surprises me,
