I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata with 160,000 miles. When I accelerate above 35-40 it shakes and makes a jerking movement like it is misfireing. Especially going up hills or when it wants to change gears. I read it might be the crank sensor but some professionals are saying that would make it not want to start at all. And I have no problem starting it. Also no problems when ideling. It is only when I accelerate hard. As soon as I let off the gas, it is smooth. Does anybody have any idea what it might be?

I doubt it's a Crank sensor. Plugs, wires, coils are the common causes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
