Hello everyone,

I have a 1968 GTO with a 71' pontiac 455 in it. I recently installed a new holley 750cfm double pumper and since then, i drained my oil to find a gallon of gas in it. The oil/gas mixture was sprayin out of the dip stick and somewhere else I cant trace. When i say spraying, I mean it was making puddles on the floor, after running for 20 seconds. Now It never did this before, I was just wondering if maybe it had something to do with the new carburerator or its just the worst I am expecting. Thanks.

Hrd to believe it ran for even twenty seconds if a gallon of gas got dumped thru the carb! Mechanical fuel pumps can get gas in the oil but even then that's kinda fast!

you may need to adjust the flots on the cab. hollys are famous for that if they sit too long you will need to check them. I hate hollys had them back fire on my 70 lemans sport and that was the last time i used a holly now i have an elderbroc cab. so much better...if you want to check the flots there is 2 of them passengers side of the cab. there is one screew on each bowl regule screew drive take that screew out with the car running if gas comes our you need to adjust it. On top there is a bigger screew with a nut under it tighting it i beleave makes less gas go in.You will have to do the same to the rear one...good luck...

I just want to jump in here to add....
has anything been added to this engine or is it stock...
my reason...if stock ...i think your over carbureted..seen many of guys years back put on double pumpers ,like 650 cfm d/per's on stock engines and it just runs rich as hell and fouls the plugs all the time...never saw it do what you describe tho....i agree ...holleys can be a pain in the ***.....take a lot of TLC to get 'em right..

back in the day....(surprised i can remember that far back)....we had a guy at a local carburetor and ignition shop that was the best at dialing in holleys...he was better than any of the guys at the speed shops that used to sell 'em to us....when they had problems ...they sent 'em to him....he was great....surprising too because he was cross eyed as hell.....but after he dialed it in...put it on the dyno....man..what a difference..

I recommend something like a 780 cfm or something like that....single pumper...vacuum secondaries...if stock..that is ..if you still want a holley...

just my thoughts...
puting away my soap box now...

JIM
