1982 chevrolet carb problem

i have a 1982 chevrolet scottsdale K20 with a 350 and four barrell carb today it started choking like it was starving for something its spits and sputters until it floods itself out and dies i havent tried anything yet cause ive never had it happen and dont know where to start any ideas

OK, THE MODEL YOU HAVE IS NON-COMPUTER. SO CHECK THE CHOKE FLAP TO SEE IF IT IS CLOSED. POSSIBLE CHIKE PULL OFF OR STUCK FLOAT. ALOT OF THOSE HAD AN ONLY REAR PULL-OFF. WHICH WONT HOLD VACUUM BUT WILL WORK UNDER CONSTANT VACUUM..............GK
