My Sister has a 1988 plymouth Reliant K with a fuel injector. Two days ago she completly ran out of gas. We have put 3-5 gallons of gas in. we charged the battery and primed it( turning the key to right before you would crank the engine keeping it there for about 5 seconds and repeating the process 3-5 times) It cranks like its going to start but it just doesnt.....what do i do?

The first thing is stop making mutiple post on same subject. OK ,when you turn key on have a helper take fuel cap off and listen for a hum for a few seconds. If no hum ,reach under and firmly smack the bottom of tank while helper cranks car. If car starts you will need a new pump.

In tank fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. When you run a car out of gas, it pumps a lot of air through the pump which overheats it and causes some severe wear and many times, failure when they cool off.
You will need to use a fuel pressure gauge to verify this
