1989 CHEVY S-10 FUEL PROBLEM Sign In

1989 CHEVY S-10 W/2.5 4 CYL. AND TBI. PROBLEM VERY HARD TO START IN A.M. WHEN COLD STARTS GREAT IN SUMMER WEATHER. SYMPTOMS ARE HARD TO START IF IT WILL WHEN IT DOES SKIPPING AND SPITTING TILL IT WARMS UP USUALLY IN 5 OR 6 MINS IT RUNS FINE. HAVE REPLACED COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR NOTICED TODAY STARTING IT COLD INJECTOR WASNT SPRAYING FUEL. PRIMED IT WITH ALITTLE GAS BY HAND TILL IT STARTED INJECTOR WAS SPRAYING SPARATICLY AND SKIPPING TILL IT WARMED UP. THEN IT RAN FINE. NEED HELP AND ANSWERS. THINKING IT COULD POSSIBLY AN ELECTRICL PROBLEM OR POSSIBLE FUEL PRESS. PROBLEM.

You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and monitor what the fuel pressure does while you're trying to start it cold.

Definitely check pressure with a gauge as Hammer suggested. Are you sure you replace coolant temp sensor as I think another is nearby?? NOt sure. CTS should be black and yellow wired (I think) and connector itself has been a problem, some come with a new pigtail. If OHMs are telling the thing it's already warmed up all the time from that or connections it will run as you've described but no limited to just that either.

Lost my chart on what OHMs for what temp you should find. If that info doesn't get to the right place (PCM) with good info fuel delivery would be confused and wrong. '89 might be tricky to know. Fuel pressure first then try code readings,
