1990 acura idle problems

Last owner put vtec head on the car idled high so I cleaned the IAC and the FITV now it idles at about 700 rpm but is sucking major air through the top hole inside the throttle body ,and now when I turn lights on idle drops lights are dim and if turn on high beams car dies only starts if jumped

You may want to start with charging the battery, getting the charging system checked, then the battery load tested. Steve

Ok I put new battery in lights and every thing ok now still sucking lots of air through top hole inside throttle body anymore ideas for me to try thanks

You still need to get the charging system checked. If the voltage is out of range, all electrical/electronic systems will be adversely affected. Steve

Ok charging system all good now but you can hear it sucking air through top hole in throttle body over the engine and idles low when cold

As HT said, "It's suppose to suck through there, that's the IAC air intake" Those have coolant going through them any were good for jamming up, a lot of times you would get a surging problem. If the IAC is functioning properly, it always resets for a cold start when the engine is shut off so whether is hot or cold when you start the engine the idle should jump to around 1200 and then depending on if it's hot or cold would determine how fast it would come down to normal idle. It the idle doesn't raise, then you probably have a bad IAC. Sometimes you can take them apart and free the gears up. If that doesn't work then it would have to be replaced. If memory serves me correctly, they were pretty expensive...........
