Just driving along and engine shuts off, still have power to everything else (stereo, lights, blinkers, etc.) Happened twice now. No bad sounds coming from engine, just stops running. Oil was a little low... Is it possible there is an oil pressure sensor that shuts the engine down when pressure is low? Or does it sound more like an alternator/wiring/fuel related problem? Checked ground wire and cleaned battery terminals after the first time, but it happened again. Running fine at the moment but I don't want to drive it till I think it won't happen again.

had a similar problem with my '92 Buick LeSabre, months of headaches. Mechanics couldnt duplicate the problem. Turned out it was the Ignition Module. Try unbolting it, sanding and cleaning the underside and the base it sits on, retighten.

When it dies can it still crank over? If so its not a charging problem, it could very well be a fuel problem. I once had a loose connection for my main fuel pump wire. It would randomly lose fuel pressure causing me to not even be able to start the car. Then it would randomly be fine again. Check to make sure your fuel pump relay is working too, mine went out once before. It has to be an ignition/ fuel issue. If it was your pickup module for your distributor it wouldnt even turn on so i doubt its that. Is your timing off? Have you noticed a loss in power?

Honda distributors are known for their ignitor problems. You'll need to check for spark right after it dies. If you wait too long, it'll cool and be okay, again. If you are getting spark, then check for fuel. Another known issue is the PGMI main relay. It's under the dash. Will shut off fuel when it takes a dump. Loren SW Washington
