1993 ford ranger. Loss of power

So i have no idea what is going on. I have tried quite a few things and the problem continues. My ford ranger started losing power a few months back. It is low end low rpm power that is gone it has no get up and go feels like it wants to go but just won't. I have replaced the cat and muffler, plugs and wires o2 sensor fuel filter adjusted the timing belt( it was off a tooth) still no luck. It seems to run okay once going but nothing like it used to and when I Am stopped and start to take off it is horribly sluggish. It is a two wheel drive ranger xlt 1993 four cylinder 2.3 i belive. Five speed manual trans. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joel

Timing belts aren't to be adjusted. If it jumped time you replace the belt, tensioner and anything other than cam and crank that touch it. Belt is likely stretching when you accelerate and retarding your timing.

Ya the mechanic I had look at it said it had jumped a tooth and threw the timing off but I don't think he replaced the belt. That's probably what it is then. Thanks for the input. Any other suggestions let me know. Could the distributer have anything to do with it. Thats one thing I have not touched yet either

Good timing belts don't jump teeth. Only a severely damaged belt will do that right before it self destructs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The words in italics are a hint to fix this immediately and stop driving it until that has been done.

I replaced the timing belt not too long before I started having problems but it was installed by a professional and would expect it would have been done right
