i am looking for a car for my daughter and a man has a 1993 saturn sL1 for 300.00 but he says that the engine has a bent valve. what does that mean and is it expensive? i don't have a reliable man in my life to ask these questions so i came here to the experts. LOL

IMO...It means steer clear of this vehicle and keep looking... A bent valve will be costly to repair.... Valves just dont bend for no reason...What caused the valve(s) to bend and what other engine damage has occured as a result? This vehicle is already 15-16 years old and known engine damage... Unless the vehicle has low mileage and everything else is in great shape where it is worth repairing or replacing the engine,I recommend looking for something else. Thats my opinion Jim
