Hey y'all
So the heater core hose behind the water pump and under the intake manifold of my Town Car sprung a leak. The parts arrive today and the work is gonna be done tomorrow, hopefully, but I had a question about removing the hose.
It seems to be affixed to the back of the engine block somehow. I've felt aroung for bolts or nuts, but just found what felt like a peg or something. Since I've got plenty of time and before I fumble around like an idiot and waste time better spent prepping my engine surfaces for new intake gaskets, I figured it'd be easier to just ask. How do I remove that darn thing.

I think I just found em both. There are two nuts holding them on and one is joined a ground wire. Am I right?

If I remember correctly, there is a short hose connected to the back of the water pump and then a metal pipe that runs to the rear and again connects to a hose.
The pipe would be clamped down.

Also, another thing to be aware of........... if this engine has had the manifold replaced with an aftermarket manifold in the past, the gaskets will be different.
The OEM setup uses a combo metal/rubber gasket. The aftermarket manifold has a rubber gasket built into it. This may cause you to have to replace the manifold again after removing it as the gaskets shouldn't be re-used.

I actually have to replace the intake manifold because half of the nipple that goes out to the other heater core hose was rusted off, but I didn't order a new aftermarket intake due to their failure prone plastic and aluminium contruction.
I already got the old hose out and hoping that the new one comes before I have to leave for work. Sorry to bother you; it was easy afterall.

Oh my? I'd almost plan on getting matched everything for this at this point. As HT said the OEM had both issue (cracks) and changed this 4.6 a few things quickly out of the gate so now without knowing who did what already EXACTLY leaves room for wrong parts now.
At this point and if I recall this was a car you were NOT giving up on. Do record by part # or something just what you chose so it can be duplicated if back there again without extra headaches,
