Have someone get under the car & give the starter body a rap with a hammer, if it cranks good after this, you have an intermittent short in the starter and it needs to be replaced...

If that doesn't work, take the cables off, clean them & try it again.

If still no go, take the battery out and down to a parts store to be tested....

This is backwards, normally you would test the battery 1st but doing these tricks out of order might save you a trip to the parts store.....Well to be accurate,,,,,,you would be able to DRIVE to the parts store to get new starter or battery cables....

I tapped on the starter, but nothing. Have good charge in the batterie, and lights and radio come on.
check cables and cleaned, and replaced postive cable, but nothing good came outa it.

So i will take off the starter and test it with jumper cables .

If it is a good starter it should jump around on the floor ,like a cat fish outa water.

Just because the lights come on doesn't mean the battery is good. The lights require the lowest amount of current to power. The starter circuit requires the most current....

Take the battery out 1st and have it tested. If it's good there are some more tests to run with starter in the car.

Also try to start it in neutral and move the gear selector around. If it has a tilt column, move the steering wheel while trying to start.

Is there an AM alarm system on the car?

The click really sounds like a ground problem....... Make sure those cables are real clean and if the battery tests good, trace the negative cable down to where it bolts on to the block, take that apart and clean it.....Also trace it to the body & clean that ground as well
