have 1998 chevy truck 5.7 When weather is cold truck is very hard to start then after it starts it is sluggish for a short distance then runs fine. When I stop for short intervals truck starts fine. After it sits all day or overnight it back to hard starting. If I start it every 2-3 hours it starts fine. Runs perfectly fine after with no issues after initial start up. Went to start other morning and now can't get it started. Ideas?

The starter is cranking the engine at a good rpm, but the engine doesn't want to start? If so, read this: http://autoforums.carjunky.com/...LL_NOT_START_P75655/ Are there any trouble codes stored? If so, what are the numbers? I'd focus on fuel pressure first. It should be around 60 psi. If it is lower than 50 psi, there won't be enough pressure to open the poppet valves in the injector tubes. The pressure should hold when the pump stops. If the pressure drops like a lead weight, you'll need to figure out where the pressure is bleeding to. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
