1998 vw passat, 1,8 aeb, gas, turbo, 20 valve, 5spd standard w/298032 miles. Starts and runs like new for first trip of the day. After that, youll be driving and engine dies for a few seconds then pops back on. Does this 4-6 times then continues on the drive like new. Can't tell if its fuel or electrical issue. According to cars computer, mpg is anywhere from 28.4 city & 33,5 highway, it still runs fabulous
have tried spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, clean air box intake screen and gas cap. I don't get any check engine lights and have had a few "rough" idle issues since this engine stalling issue.
