im working on a 1999 nissan sentra with a 1.6 4 cylinder. automatic transmission. car has about 200,000 miles. my sister was driving the car, stopped at a stop sign, hit the gas and the car wouldnt go. she then killed the car and now it wont start back up. i put a guage in the fuel line and came up with about 60 psi of fuel pressure. i pulled each plug and ran a compression test, and came up with about 70 psi per cylinder. i unbolted the fuel rail and all injectors are spraying. all plugs had a blue arc when checked outside the cylinder. put a timing light on it to make sure the car was firing with the plugs in the hole and the light worked so they are. code reader pulled no codes. i am stumped. help please

Those compressions readings are too low. It would also be very unusual for all of them to read the same like that. You may have a timing chain problem with that kind of mileage but I'd double check those compression readings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

i will double check them. i was told that they should be between 60 and 80 as well as be consistant. the actual readings were 70, 70, 69, and 72. is this info not correct?

I don't know where you got that info but it's totally wrong Normal is close to 200 for that engine and minimum is supposed to be 170 Here are the factory specs
- Always use a fully-charged battery to obtain specified engine speed. Compression pressure: kPa (kg/cm, psi)/rpm
Standard: 1,373 (14.0, 199)/350 Minimum: 1,177 (12.0, 171)/350 Maximum Difference limit between cylinders: 98 (1.0, 14)/350 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

so if the compression is too low, would that mean a timing chain problem? i thought that if the chain was broke it wouldnt have any compression.
