No, it didn't tell you that the air pump was bad. That's not what codes do. It recorded a specific occurrence and you need to determine what caused it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Another words, what was the trouble code number you got? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

You might want to call your mechanic and ask him/her what the trouble code number was or if the check engine light is on, you can swing into Autozone and they can scan it for you. Without the trouble code number we have no clue what is going on with your A.I.R system. Or if you believe your mechanics prognosis, then there is the procedure above. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
