On my way home from work yesterday, every time I accelerated, I heard what sounded like kicking up rocks under the car. As I was turning into a parking lot, it felt the power steering went out. I couldn't turn at all without forcefully using both hands to turn the wheel. Then, my car came to a complete stop and the engine died. I waited about a minute, then turned it over again and at that point there was a horrible grinding noise and continued to sound like I was kicking up rocks. Luckily I was able to get into a parking space where it died again. I waited about 5-10 mins and tried to turn it over again. But now I can't get it to do anything. It only makes an awful grinding noise. Again, it's a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L V6 with 147,000 miles. We replaced the transmission last year. Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have you opened the hood yet and looked at the drive belt and accessory pulleys? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Did look under the hood and everything "appeared" to look fine. Of course, it was at a quick glance. I did make sure that the oil level was fine too. Aside from the quick glance, not really sure what I should be looking for.

You may not want to drive it anymore until the problem is determined. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have it towed to your mechanic. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
