2000 kia sportage runs like its loosing compression. Have replaced spark slugs, new water pump, No water in oil. When it starts it make a clinging sound during the first 5 minutes of driving, then it goes away. But when applying the accelerator no power. Car gradually picks up speed. Is there something I can do???

Check engine light on? Where does the clinging sound seem like it is coming from? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Probably would be a good idea to scan the computer and see what code(s) is being stored first. Write down the numbers. Where does the clinging noise sound like it is coming from on the engine? Timing cover, valve cover, exhaust, oil pan, front accessory, etc? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
