What was the fuel pressure reading and was this taken during the failure? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Are you telling me that you had 50PSI while the car was running and misfiring? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

There is a problem with that statement. The spec with the engine running is only 38PSI at idle.

49 PSI running. I checked the specs in Haynes manual and it seems to fall in specs for the engine. It has the 3 liter 24 valve engine. Coupe body.

Not with the engine running and vacuum connected to the regulator. This is from Alldata which is far more trustworthy than Haynes. Regulated Pressure w/Vacuum Connected 270 kpa (38 psi) Note: At curb idle Regulated Pressure w/Vacuum Disconnected 330 - 350 kpa (47 - 50 psi) Note: At curb idle ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

ok so I found a vacuum hose cracked going to the fuel pressure regulator and replaced it. still running a bit over your spec though. it's at 41.5 psi warmed up at idle. I'm not sure 3.5 psi would cause my problems but I am up to any suggestion at this point. I wish now that I would have gone into the mechanical side of car's instead of the body side!

Yeah I was kinda leaning that way. My simple little code yanker just isnt gonna cut it for driveability issues. I know some folks at a go fast Z shop but dont know if they can help me with a Mitsubishi engine. Ill give them a shot. Thank you for taking the time to help. not just me but all the countless others as well. I'll post on whatever fix I find. The more I lok online the more I see folks having a problem with this po300 code. how I long for the good old days of tuning a carb.

A P0300 just means random misfire. The possible reasons or causes are infinite.
