2001 saturn sc2. 91000 miles. started car in cold wisconsin weather a couple days ago and didnt think to let it warm up and just drove. after this you hear a loud knocking or rattleing type noise coming from the engine area. doesnt really sound when in idle just slightly. noticed a loss of power when my car starts to hit about 3 rpms. when i get to around 2 rpms the knocking/rattle is very loud and noticable. and when i am staying at a constant speed it makes the noise. i think it may be a busted rod but not sure maybe a header or gasket. what do you think?

Just don't be standing close to the engine the next time you do that. It's probably going to be some flying parts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
