dang .. i would think this squeak in the engine would be the belt ,.. because thats what it sounds like .. but we have belt conditioner all over it .. and we just got a new idler tensioner pully put on .. i belive its one of the idlers lo0se .. but not sure.. what do you think?? when we put the belt conditioner on the belts and it quiets down .. but its still there ..when you tearm the car off you can still hear it slowly stopping .i though it could be the water pump too .. if the bearing is going out !! so many things could be wrong .. but i think that the idlers just need to be tightned

It could also just be the belt. If you have dressing all over it, I would opt for replacing the belt. Dirt in grooves or glaze on belts can cause the squeak. Covering up noises is not good.

Belt sprays IMO can make belts noisier! They might help with slipping but shouldn't be needed if all is well. Off the wall but I use silicone grease on belts to shut them up. Quick test with WD-40 if noise goes away will show if it's the belt or more.

Take belt off and spin each bearinged item to find which may be bad and that the belt tension is correct with the right belt - some can stretch to the extreme of adjustment and new, proper belt should fix that,
