2007 GMC Yukon Denali - After working hard when idle it dies

Over the last month - 3 times I've had this thing die on me. The first time was when I gained about 2,000 ft of elevation over the course of an hour and then came to a stop light. At the stop light the car died upon idling. After about an hour or two it fired back up and worked fine.
Second time - drove for an hour or so with a decent elevation gain. Came to a pull off and upon idling there it died. After an hour or two it started and ran fine.
3rd time - pulling a camper for around 45 minutes at highway speeds on a steady incline came to a small town and at second red light it died. Took about 2 or 3 hours to start. Stored the camper and went on my way because I've lost some trust.....
When it dies it cranks like it wants to start but refuses to turn over until what it thinks is 'cooled down' I believe.
I've had 3 professionals look at it and the only thing I've heard back is possibly a fuel pump....That's not a cheap guess.
Located in Denver, CO and any help is welcome.

Hmmm? Just chance I spent a year or so in Denver (from the East) and went thru a lot with quick altitude changes. Just a maybe you should rule out with this behavior is loosen the fuel cap! You are using up fuel FAST no doubt and possibly creating a vacuum the fuel pump can't overcome. If that quickly works there's a problem with either cap or the evaporative emissions not compensating for the pressure changes mostly that air can't displace loss of fuel in a tank.
Twas a long time ago now almost no fuel injection, carbed engines would stall as you went higher just anyway, less air, less engine power. I did note "Denver" being about "mile high" that leaving you gain altitude first even heading East and super fast heading West especially but some any direction. Could see Golden from my place was 2,000 feet higher I think?
Just load on vehicle plus add a trailer is a lot of work for a reduced power engine the heat would also be a factor. Side note that a thing called Vapor Lock should be out of date for this vehicle if even so (boiling fuel) it would cool down in short time and quit that just hard to re-start. Still a maybe you are pushing extremes and yes it would happen upon stopping, engine heat builds up when you stop.
Fuel pump pressure check when NOT happening if now low on fuel (don't allow that) would prove it without too much guessing,

If you don't like expensive guesses, then you need to do some testing during that 2-3 hours that it will not start. It is your only option short of expensive guesses.
Here is the procedure
All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.
Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.
These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.
1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.
2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.
3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.
