2007 Silverado wont start. Sign In

My son was driving my 2007 Silverado when he a messege popped up saying oil pressure low stop engine now. He pulled over and before he could stopped the engine died. The truck will do nothing but click when you turn the key now. We replaced the battery and starter. Neither helped. We found one spark ug cracked and replaced it. What else could prevent it from starting.

Yikes - that warning was late unfortunately. I think this engine is so tight it can't turn by starter and could be all over for that engine but a wild maybe you might be able to squirt some oil or even WD-40 in plug holes and rock crank by crankshaft bolt back and forth till it only might free up some. In fact do that to see how tight the engine really is anyway.

Low oil = no pressure then the smear that lubes either goes super sticky (seconds of time) or worse metal to metal has gone into welding itself -- call that seized. Damage either way but might get it to run and find out if damage is fatal or not.

Not pretty and not cheap. Late now but I'm surprised oil got that low without a leak or somehow damage from something to like an oil pan or oil filter where it runs right out fast.

None of this sounds good for that engine,

T

When I checked the oil The level was actually high. It had been recently changed. In fact about a week early and the would pressure showed to be high at that time.

Yep, sounds like it's time to start looking for a motor. That one is seized.
