Hello all, thanks for viewing my post. I have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum. It has been having White smoke and just want to make sure I have diagnosed this correctly. Problems: White Smoke, Oil in manifold cover when I took it off(I could literally poor it out). Oil in intake. I recently replaced the upper and lower intake/exhaust manifold gaskets and oil change. Smoke went away for a day then after it sat it came back. I took it apart today again and same symptoms of where oil is. I just have basic knowledge of car mechanics but wanted to check with you all before I keep working. Bottom Manifold had oil all over. Manifold cover had oil inside and I was able to pour it out. After removing the manifold I see gaps in the pistons(I think that's what they are) I feel like oil is escaping from these gaps and shooting up. Then sits in manifold and is what is causing the White smoke. Anyone know if this is correct and how to fix it? Do I need to pull the rest out to get to the head gasket? Thanks so much and I appreciate it.

Lets clarify what the smoke actually is and where it's coming out of. Is it coming out of the tailpipe? White smoke is generally steam and dissipates quickly because is water vapor and has a sweet smell. Are you losing any coolant? Oil smoke is generally a blueish color. and it's greasy and hangs in the air for a while with a burnt smell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
