Have a 87 Olds delta 88 with 120,000 soft miles which is running extremely rough and bogs out completly when accelerated. Did die completly and replaced coil and now runs, but poorly. The check engine light is now out after replacing the coil. Code is unreadable just consatant blinking. Help!

When you say code is unreadable constant blinking, is that all the time or have you gotten this when you ground the ALCL connector? It is possible that the serial data wire of the diagnostic connector could be shorted to ground. It is also possible you may need to replace the ECM, PROM, and CALPAC. If you have a scan tool try entering on board diagnostics. If you get a can't communicate with vehicle message then it may be the ECM. I would need more info on the vehicle and more insight on the problem before I condemn any part though.
