I don't know a lot about cars, and this being my first car I am a little clueless, and haven't been through a lot with cars. Anyway, when I start it up, and it idles it sounds a little rough and sounds like its idling too high like it's trying to get some fuel or air. I take off and it hesitates a little getting up to about 30-40 and then it's fine. When I start slowing down it seems like it hesitates and putters from 60 down to about 45 then it's fine. Does anyone know what this might be? Also, I want to add sometimes when I'm riding along it just seems like it idles up possibly and putters.

I would probably start off with making sure there isn't any vacuum leaks. Listen to the engine while it's running and listen for any "hissing" noises, the could indicate a leak. Also get a can of carb clean and spray around the vacuum hoses, lines, throttle body base & intake manifold, any change in idle would indicate a leak........
