White smoke is an indication of coolant/water in the combustion chamber. Possible causes could be a head gasket leaking, cracked/warped heads, cracked block. With the engine and radiator cool, check your coolant level in the radiator (don't trust the overflow bottle to be accurate). If you are low on coolant, or if you see what looks like oil floating on the top of the coolant, you could be looking at one of the above mentioned problems. Another indicator would be antifreeze in your oil. Pull the engine oil dipstick and see if it looks like grey mayonaise instead of oil. If you find any of the above, you may want to have a mechanic test the cooling system for leaks. They can pressurize the cooling system and the guage will tell them if there is a leak, then they can start looking for where the leak is. If you are burning anti-freeze, it has to be getting into the combustion chambers somewhere.
