Replaced both neither fixed the problem.I also replace the fuel filter, plug wires twice, and spark plugs.I did my own code check and it isn't showing any codes. Had it done at a local garage also no codes. When it does this which is almost all the time the car really shake and sputters. It seems worse when the gas tank is below 1/4 tank, could it be the fuel pump is going? Any ideas? Thanks Bob

A fuel pressure test should at least rule that out, T

Hey, I am not sure if you ever got this problem fixed, but I had an 94 escort years ago that did the same thing and the snorkel from the air-box to the intake had a crack in it. Leaking air caused the problem. I had the fule pump replaced, the fuel cutoff, new plugs, wires, etc, and fifteen cents worth of electrical tape sealed the crack and the car ran great. Hopefully you got it managed.. Ben
