i have a 95 nissan pathfinder that just stalled out while driving. the tow person said it sounded like a fuel pump problem or the fuel line was frozen. he tapped on the fuel tank while i tried to start it and it got enough gas to turn over and then nothing. he towed it to a mechanic who looked at it the next day and said it started up but there is a low engine knock and the engine is shot. also, when it stalled out i checked the oil and it seemed full but wasn't sure so i added a quart and also 2 bottles of dry gas. do you think the engine is really shot or could the oil being to high cause this knock from having too much oil pressure? any help would be appreciated very much.

Where is it now? If you have it check that oil again! If it's way too full that could be a problem and hard to say what the symptom might be with just a quart too full - usually not a problem but could be. It isn't making too much oil pressure but it can splash in ways as to cause real damage. Avoid ever doing that! If it's at the shop still tell them that! It wouldn't be the first thing I'd look for with a "no start" condition and perhaps they haven't checked it. Get the level right and hope that isn't the current problem, T
