my cousin has a 96 chev with a 5.7l vortec. it started to run rough and after she shut it off it would not start any more. It has 60+psi fuel pressure/pulse test at injectors ok/runs if primed through dome on it's own gas.......so it seems to have fuel pressure and spark...
any thoughts???????????????

If you have fuel and spark the next may be a timing problem. I own that engine and it's never even skipped so I haven't had to dig into it, T

thx for the reply.
the truck runs fine when primed through the dome....would it do so if the timing was off?

Good point. If timing was that far off it would probably only stumble at best with priming it. These are pretty tough engines and don't generally eat up timing chains but there are lots of items that elctronically control it.

It would help if you could get codes from this. Hard to do while it's not running to get somewhere, T
