96 S10 Blazer breather tube Sign In

I have a 1996 S10 Blazer 2WD, 4.3 L. On the right side of the engine, opposite the PVC side, there is a breather hose. It looks like it is loose at the valve cover, or better said, it spins around in it. Is this breather hose supposed to be sealed at the valve cover? The second question is that I took it off and blew into both ends of it; air flowed easily both ways. Is it supposed to be like this or is it supposed to be a one way breather tube? Help.

It is just a tube. The rubber seal is suppose to keep the oil in but for the most part it is working as it should.

Sly Thanks, Jeff. The problem I am having with this car is that of starting. As long as it is warm, its starts alright. In the mornings it will not start on its own. Just as soon as I squirt some starter fluid into the airduct, Wham!, it starts right up and runs fine. I have replaced the whole evap system, EGR valve, Evap solenoid purge valve, purge vent and cannister. I have also installed a new fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pump really shoots a long stream of gas out. Do you have any idea what the problem may be?
