What would cause a fly wheel to crack. I have replaced it twice in 4 months. Thought the first one was just a cheap one. Does it have to do with transmission????

keasha; Very common for GM flex-plates to crack. But two in 4 mos? Do you have, or have had, any problems with the way it runs? Any backfiring? The torque converter bolts to the flex-plate, but I'd assume you'd have noticed a vibration if the TC was causing a problem. Have the end play in the crankshaft checked, but that's a real long shot.
