My wife's 97 olds 88 has been misfiring. I had a diagnostic done at advance auto that said "multiple cylinder misfire detected". I have already changed the wires, spark plugs, and ignition coils. It's still misfiring and is barely driveable. Any ideas on what's wrong?

There are a lot of things other then the ignition system that can cause a misfire.
 Low fuel pressure.
 Dirty injectors.
 Failing injectors.
 Excessive carbon deposits.
 Vacuum leaks.
 Evap purge system.
 EGR operation.
 MAF sensor out of range.
 Other sensors out of range (not enough to set codes but still out)
 Poor electrical connections.
 Electronic issues (computer)
Then we can start talking about engine mechanical?
All of these things can cause an engine misfire and all of which would need to be tested individually through a process of elimination.
Wish I had an answer for you but at times it’s a lot of legwork, experience and a whole lot of test equipment to find a misfire.

I have a post in the Tricks of the Trade forum for multiple misfires. Might be worth checking out.
