98 intriege RANDOM WONT START

1998 OLDS. INTRIEGE WOULDNT START FOUR DAYS AFTER PURCHASE WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE STORE NOTHING BUT A CLICKING SOUND WHEN i TURNED THE KEY. HAD A REBUILT STARTER PUT ON. AND IT WORKED FINE. ABOUT A WEEK LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN SAME THING. THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD STARTER AND PUT ANOTHER ONE ON. IT DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER WEEK THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN NOW THEY SAY THE ENGINE IS LOCKED UP, WHAT IS GOING ON?

mas; Bummer! To confirm a siezed engine, there will be a large bolt in the center of the crankshaft pulley that you can put a socket onto. Then, with a long rachet or breaker bar, try to 'rock' the engine both directions. It's possible that the starter is locked up in the flexplate. By rocking back and forth, may release it. If you can't get the engine to move, then, yes, it may be siezed. If this is the case, or not, check the oil level and condition. Any overheating prior to this? Loren SW Washington
