99 gmc jimmy wont start. i can introduce a little fuel into throttle body and it will start and idle fine. under acceleration it seems to misfire or bog. i dont know much history of the truck bought used at a steal. the previous owner said he had put a fuel pump in a while back. i have put a fuel filter in my self and pulled a plug to check for spark. if i warm it up it will start back up but not after about 5 minutes. any ideas possable sensor issues ( forgot to mension sevice engine light is on)

'm not sure how simmilar the problem I had is to this one but i hope this helps: My 1998 GMC Jimmy would not release the key from the ignition, and it would sometimes stick in park... The soultion i found is that there is a bunch of (about 4) wires conected to the "shifting column" underneath the boot (near the top left of the boot and about 3 inches down) our problem was caused by having the wires in that connector come loose. the solution was to push the wires back into the connecting peice. Appearantly GMC didn't think twice about putting fragile electrical components near moving parts...I don't know how similar the 1998 is to the 2000 model but i still hope this helps... ___________________________ Volvo Blog

My 2000 Jimmy has trouble starting, as well. I've been told that it might be a fuel system problem. Perhaps our puzzles are related. I'll ask around, and if I have any luck sorting mine out, I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck.
